  • NOW IN STOCK: Armstrong Maintenance-Free Circulators & Seal Bearing Assemblies

    March 28, 2014

As part of Pump Products ongoing effort to meet the demands of customers in the building maintenance and contracting markets, we've added Armstrong's new Maintenance-Free S & H Circulators and Seal Bearing Assemblies to our 2014 inventory. The new Maintenance-Free (MF) versions of Armstrong's popular S & H Circulator lines and Seal Bearing Assemblies (SBA) contain permanently lubricated bearings that require no oiling or greasing. The Maintenance-free version of Armstrong's popular S & H lines eliminates the sleeve bearing, which requires periodic oiling, and replaces it with a sealed bearing assembly, requiring no lubrication. This small design improvement can provide building owners with substantial savings in maintenance and repair costs, and extend pump life for those who do little or no maintenance. (more…)

Taco Delivers Hot Water on D’Mand

    March 14, 2014

Pump Products staff have been getting a lot of inquiries from customers seeking advice on Taco D'Mand Recirculator Systems. In the interest of spreading information on our products as widely as possible, here's what our Product Experts have to say. Q. I am thinking about putting a Taco D'Mand Recirculator System in my home.  Any suggestions on this product - Gary, TX A. It's estimated that the average family wastes 20 gallons of water per day waiting for hot water. The Taco D’Mand System minimizes the water and energy that is wasted while hot water makes it's way to fixtures located a long distance from the water heater through the activation of a small, silent pump. The pump is attached to the hot and cold water lines located beneath a kitchen or bath fixture and runs only when activated by button or remote control. When activated, the pump circulates hot water from the water heater and returns cooled water back through the cold water line. When the hot water reaches the faucet, a heat sensor gauges when it is hot enough and shuts off the pump to prevent pumping excess hot water into the cold water line. (more…)

  • Pump Products’ Guide to Cooling System & Condensate Pump Maintenance

    March 12, 2014

With warm weather approaching, air conditioning systems will soon be kicking in to high gear.  Keep your cooling system running trouble-free with a pre-season inspection that includes checking refrigerant levels, cleaning air filters and cooling coils, and emptying the condensate reservoir. All but the most basic cooling systems include some type of drain pan to collect condensate generated by the cooling coils. Condensate drain pans can fill with sludge and should be thoroughly cleaned at the start of the cooling season. (more…)

  • Pump Products Extends Discounts to PHCC and EASA Member Contractors

    March 10, 2014

Pump Products is offering a new incentive to customers from the plumbing, HVAC and electrical contracting trades. Those holding memberships in the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) and the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA), are eligible to receive additional discounts off of Pump Products' guaranteed lowest prices on pump, electric motor and repair parts purchases. "With our focus on pumping equipment, we occupy a niche market that is sustained by trade-affiliated contractors," says General Manger Ed Drejman. "In striving to be the contracting industry's one-stop-shop for pumps and electric motors by leading manufacturers like Bell & Gossett, Armstrong, Taco, Grundfos, Zoeller, WEG and others, offering a broad inventory is just the first step. To stand apart from the rest, we have to sell products at the kinds of discounts that cancel out the need to shop elsewhere." As a member of both EASA and PHCC, Pump Products is part of a nationwide network of plumbing, HVAC and electrical contractors who have a demonstrated interest in best practices and emerging technologies -- a ready market for the energy efficient and industrial grade pump and motor products by innovative manufacturers like Wilo, Liberty and PHCC Pro Series that Pump Products sells. Effectively working with these kinds of products often requires a level of technical expertise that the average homeowner lacks and is likely to pass on in favor of simpler, less efficient models. Experienced contractors, on the other hand, will recognize the benefits to be gained from installing high efficiency products and be more likely to use them if given the necessary information and enough incentive. "Many of our product experts have come out of the plumbing, HVAC and electrical trades with firsthand experience of the applications PHCC and EASA members deal with on a daily basis," says Ed Drejman. "At Pump Products they are manufacturer-trained to size and apply both general and industry-specific products ranging from Schneider Electric Square D VFD drives to Zoeller explosion-proof pumps. As a result, there aren't many vendors better suited to dealing with contractors than we are." In addition to fewer product returns and breakdowns resulting from expert sizing and product selection, Pump Products is offering EASA and PHCC members a monetary incentive to shop online. "It's a competitive market and by offering PHCC and EASA members discounts on top of our already guaranteed low prices, we are offering contractors merchandise at savings that they can pass along to their customers. When you throw free shipping into the mix, we thave a real contribution to make. Whether it's a residential sewage pump from Sta-Rite or a fully engineered Hydromatic system, it doesn't matter. The message we're sending to contractors is, we can help." Pump Products carries an extensive selection of pumps and repair parts by leading manufacturers including Armstrong, Bell & Gossett, Taco, Berkeley, Hydromatic and Little Giant to residential, commercial and industrial customers.
