Zoeller 180,190 Series Effluent Pumps Buyers Guide & Review

The Zoeller 180,190 series high head “Flow-Mate” effluent/sump pumps are designed for high head effluent, groundwater, and general dewatering applications. They can pump effluent or groundwater. The Zoeller 180,190 series pumps are typically used in a septic tank, low pressure pipe (LPP), and in a enhanced flow step system settings.

The Zoeller 180,190 series pumps are made of rugged cast iron, with an epoxy powder coated finish for extra corrosion protection. The impeller is a non-clogging bronze vortex. The upper and lower sleeve bearings run in a bath of oil, the shaft seal is made of carbon and ceramic, the bolts, screws, handle, guard, arm, and seals are all stainless steel. There are no sheet metal parts to rust or corrode in the pump. The motor is 60 Hz, 3450 RPM, oil-filled, and hermetically-sealed with automatic reset thermal overload protection (in single phase models).

Each pump can operate at water temperatures up to 130°F for effluent applications.  This pump can pass up to ¾” spherical solids. Automatic models include a 2-pole mechanical float switch. All models include a standard 20 ft. UL listed 3-wire neoprene power cord with options for 25, 35, and 50 ft. The standard discharge size is 1-1/2″ NPT with 2″ and 3″ flanges available.

Pumps with the “185-186-188-189” prefix are single seal while pumps with the “41851-4186-4188-4189” prefix are double seal with improved bearing lubrication. The pumps in this grouping can pass ¾” spherical solids.

Also included with this family is the Zoeller 191 single seal drip pump. The 191 has an enclosed impeller design which allows the pump to pass ⅝” spherical solids.

Please note that automatic models are not recommended for use in effluent systems.
