The Goulds 1GD series Grinder Pumps are a premium series designed for high head sewage applications where a gravity system is not practical, as well as pressure sewage applications. The Goulds 1GD series can handle solids up to 3" in diameter. The cutting system is of an anti-roping design in which the hardened cutter is keyed to the motor shaft for positive drive. The cutter ring is designed for reversal when the first side of the ring wears out, doubling its lifespan and reducing maintenance costs. The cutting system has been tested to pass items found in normal wastewater. The cutting system is paired with a silicon bronze semi-open multi-vane impeller. The impeller includes pump out vanes for mechanical seal protection. The volute is cast iron and adaptable for the A10-12 guide rail system for ease of installation. A key feature of the 1GD series is the dual mechanical seals with a silicon carbide vs. silicon carbide outer seal and a ceramic vs. carbon inner seal. An optional seal sensor probe indicates potential leakage to the control panel (requires optional seal fail circuit in the panel). The motor is fully submerged in an oil-filled chamber surrounded by high grade turbine oil for efficient heat dissipation, lubrication and protection. The pump is rated for continuous duty when fully submerged, but can be run dry without damaging the components (see operation guidelines below). The sever duty rated, oil and water resistant power cable includes an epoxy seal on the motor end to provide a secondary moisture barrier in case of outer jacket damage, as well as to prevent oil wicking. Please note that these Grinder Pumps require a magnetic contactor, start and run capacitor and a starting relay in the control panel. Goulds 1GA and 2GA series Grinder Pumps are built for grinding municipal, commercial and industrial sewage into a fine slurry. These premium pumps are built to export that slurry to high heads in pressure sewage systems. 1GA and 2GA series Grinder Pumps can even grind commercial raw sewage containing small quantities of plastic, rubber, cloth, paper, and other non-abrasive solids. 1GA series Grinder Pumps have a discharge size of 1-1/2" and can reach a maximum capacity of 92 GPM and a maximum total head of 117' TDH. While the 2GA Grinder Pumps have a discharge size of 2" and can reach a maximum capacity of 198 GPM and a maximum total head of 178' TDH. Pump features may include a stainless steel cutter system with a cast iron semi-open multivane impeller with pump-out vanes for mechanical seal protection. Volutes are cast iron for high efficiency and may be adaptable for a slide rail system. Two coat paint provides extra protection and corrosion resistance. Internally, a dual mechanical seal guards against leakage. The lower seal has ceramic/ceramic faces, while the upper seal has carbon/ceramic faces. A small internal float leakage sensor can detect water in the stator chamber. When activated the FLS can signal an alarm (through a 24 volt MiniCAS monitoring relay) and stop the pump from operating, if so desired. The MiniCAS relay can be ordered separately or as a built-in option. The motor is an air filled, NEMA type B induction motor with Class F insulated stator winding. Built-in thermal sensors can send a temperature signal to the MiniCAS relay in the control panel. The motor casings have integral cooling ribs for maximum heat dissipation, while the junction chamber is completely sealed from any surrounding liquid. Goulds AGS series axial Grinder Pumps use cutting edge grinder technology to meet the demands of modern residential wastewater applications. The AGS series was built for use in residential and small office new construction wastewater applications, applications where modern wastewater flushables create clogging issues and as a 2" sewage pump replacement pump. These pumps are also ideal for residential sewage systems where a gravity system is not practical, as well as pressure sewage systems. The key feature of the AGS series Grinder Pump is the axial grinder coupled with the balanced semi-open impeller that reduces downtime caused by clogging or roping. The axial grinder pairs an eight-hole cutter plate that receives the material and passes it to a three blade cutter that can generate up to 4.9 million biter per hour (at a head of 66' TDH). Waste is thus reduced to a fine slurry, ensuring reduced downtime and smooth operation. The entire cutter is stainless steel, non-clogging design. Other top of the line construction features include a uni-body cast iron volute that can be adaptable for guide rail systems, an AISI 300 series stainless steel motor shaft and upper and lower ball bearings for precise parts positioning, as well as radial and thrust load containment. The mechanical seal is comprised of hardface silicon carbide faces and stainless steel metal parts encased in BUNA-N elastomers. The motor is fully submerged in high grade turbine oil for heat dissipation, permanent lubrication and protection. The severe duty rated power cord is also oil and water resistant. The 1GA/2GA series of Grinder Pumps from Goulds are designed for municipal, commercial, and industrial pressure sewage systems or applications that require high head. This series has a cutter system designed to reduce sewage to a fine slurry. The cast iron, semi-open, non-overloading multi-vane impeller features pump out vanes for mechanical seal protection. Cast iron, volute type casing provides high efficiency operation and can adapt for a slide rail system. A two coat paint system also adds superior surface protection. A float leakage sensor comes standard on all models. A small internal float switch is used to detect the presence of water in the stator chamber. The float leakage sensor, when activated, will cause the patented 24 volt MiniCAS (control and status) monitoring relay to signal an alarm and, if desired, stop the pump. The MiniCAS 24 volt relay can be ordered separately for installation in a control panel by a UL or CSA certified panel shop or as a built in option in the control panel. The 1GA/2GA Series from Goulds Water Technology features an air filled, NEMA type B squirrel cage induction motor. The motor is designed for 15 evenly spaced starts per hour and features built in thermal sensors that provide an over temperature signal to the Mini CAS monitoring relay mounted in the control panel. A common pump motor shaft and compact seal design permits short overhang, minimizing shaft deflection. Motor casings have integral cooling ribs for maximum heat dissipation and the shaft mounting is a robust maintenance-free design featuring pre-greased ball bearings. The junction chamber is completely sealed off from the surrounding liquid and incorporates a separate gland assembly with a strain relief clamp.
