Warm Up The Holidays With a Recirculating Pump

Preparing for a houseful of guests this holiday season? Nothing says you care like a faucet full of warm water.

A recirculating pump will ensure that warmed water is immediately available to your friends and family at every outlet in your home. The rest of the year, it will reduce your water bill by up to 10%.

At Pump Products we carry hot water recirculators in a variety of styles by leading manufacturers including Laing, Armstrong, Grundfos, Wilo & Bell & Gossett.

Laing’s ACT-4 Recirculator Pump Kit is designed for systems without a recirculation line. The ACT-4 is  mounted to the water heater and operates in connection with a paired valve that is installed under the water outlet farthest from the water heater. The valve is equipped with a temperature sensor and wireless RF transceiver that communicates with the pump at the hot water source and turns on only when the system needs to be replenished with hot water.

Armstrong ASTRO 230SS-TA Hot Water Recirculation Pump is designed for dedicated return in three-pipe plumbing installations and is equipped with an Aquastat, which activates the pump only when it senses the water temperature is below 85°F (25°C).  Once activated, the circulator operates until either the water temperature reaches 105°F (41°C), or the current timed activation period ends.  The pump is controlled by a 24 hour timer which allows for hot water delivery in 15 minute increments throughout the day.

The Grundfos 595916 Recirculator is designed to be installed directly to the hot water discharge on the water heater.  The pump kit comes with a Comfort Valve that is installed under the sink at the fixture furthest from the water heater, and the system uses the existing cold water line to return hot water to the water heater, saving gallons of water each day. Hot water is always at hand because it continuously circulates from the hot water line to the cold water line and back to the hot water heater.

Bell & Gossett Autocirc Recirculators are specifically designed for standard water heaters. These circulators come assembled with a timer, cord and plug and feature a fixed thermostat that automatically activates pump when the water temperature in the hot water line reaches 85°F and turns it off when the water temperature reaches 95°F.  When the pump is inactive, a built-in auto closure device prevents any other hot-to-cold line or cold-to-hot line mix.

The Taco D’Mand System minimizes the water and energy that is wasted while hot water makes it’s way to fixtures located a long distance from the water heater through the activation of a small, silent pump tht is attached to the hot and cold water lines located beneath a kitchen or bath fixture. When activated button or remote control, the pump circulates hot water from the water heater and returns cooled water back through the cold water line. When the hot water reaches the faucet, a heat sensor gauges when it is hot enough and shuts off the pump to prevent pumping excess hot water into the cold water line.
