The Goulds’ 3742 Series frame-mounted, end-suction, Centrifugal Pumps are designed for water circulation, booster service, liquid transfer, spraying systems, jockey pump service, and general purpose pumping. These pumps can be mounted in vertical or horizontal position. They are built with all iron, all bronze, or bronze fitted construction and an enclosed impeller in multiple sizes. Models are available in a variety of power outputs and NPT suction and discharge sizes. The Goulds 3742 are a single stage, end-suction centrifugal bare pump that can be coupled to motor through a spacer coupling or belt driven. Please note that this is a bare pump only. The Motor is not included.
The compact, close coupled and space saving design provides for easy installation. Flexible couplings and bedplates are not required. The design also offers flexibility of installation and driver arrangements. A cast iron power frame rigidly supports the grease-for-life ball bearing shaft assembly.
The enclosed impeller design provides high efficiencies while also being balanced for smooth operation. The impellers are threaded directly onto the motor shaft. Stainless steel locknuts on three phase models require no clearance adjustment.
Casings are volute type that are a back pull out design and are constructed of either cast iron or brass. Discharges can be rotated in eight positions. Vertical discharges come standard. Tapped openings are provided for priming, venting, and draining.
Mechanical seals comes standard with carbon/ceramic faces, BUNA elastomers, and 300 series stainless steel components. Optional seals are available. For similar close-coupled, pump, and motor versions, look at the Goulds’ 3642 Series Centrifugal Pumps.
