The Zoeller 290 series is similar to other pumps in the "Waste-Mate" family but are specifically designed for high head wastewater applications. These pumps can perform well in residential or light commercial settings and can also transfer groundwater and effluent. Like all Zoeller pumps, the Zoeller 290 series pumps are constructed for durability and long lasting trouble-free performance. Each pump features a cast iron volute, base, motor, and switch case with a corrosion resistant powder coated epoxy finish. Sheet metal parts, which are susceptible to rust, are not included in the construction. Impellers are bronze and of a non clog vortex design. The shaft seal is made of an stainless steel carbon with a ceramic rotary. The motor is oil-filled, hermetically sealed, and thermally protected with an automatic reset.  The Zoeller 290 pumps can withstand a maximum temperature of 130° F when submerged. Automatic and manual models are available. Automatic models can include either a mechanical pole or a variable level float switch; manual models must be run with a control panel. Performance Curve Applications The Zoeller 212-0001 is designed for use in residential or light commercial sewage applications. The pump is effective at moving wastewater, its designed function. It can also be used for general water transfer, groundwater, and effluent. Construction The volute itself is made of rugged cast iron, while the base is engineered plastic. The volute is covered with a powder coated epoxy finish for extra corrosion resistance. Remember, corrosion is a major threat for wastewater pumps, so extra resistance is important. A vertical float switch is integrated parallel to the pump. Features  The motor is oil-filled and hermetically-sealed with an automatic reset for thermal overload protection. A heat sink allows for excess heat to dissipate. Each pump can pass up to 2" spherical solids through a 2" NPT Discharge. The mechanical seal is a mix of carbon and ceramic with a NBR rubber sealant elastomer. All in all, this is a great sewage pump for your wastewater needs.
