  • Goulds Sump Pumps: The Best Way To Protect Your Basement

    March 18, 2020

Picture this: it's night. A storm rages outside. You can hear the rain beating against the side of your house. The wind bends the trees in your front yard into an unnatural angle. And then something moves in the basement. You run downstairs to see your couch, the drum set (the one you always promised yourself you'd learn one day), and the rest of your valuables floating in the mini lake that has formed in the basement. This nightmare scenario could have been prevented with an easy solution. A Goulds sump pump. First, let's briefly discuss what sump pump's are and how they basically work. Sump pumps are integral for any home or business. Their main task is to prevent basement flooding. Sump pumps work by kicking on when excess water is present, whether that’s groundwater or runoff from a heavy storm. Typically, a sump pump is housed in a basin under your basement floor or in a crawl space. When enough excess water rises in the basin, a float switch kicks the pump on and begins the process of water drainage. This brings us to Goulds. Goulds is one of the top brands that manufacture sump pumps. Their submersible sump pumps are built for basic sump applications, including basement drainage, water transfer, and dewatering. Most Goulds submersible sump pumps are lightweight, corrosion resistant, portable, and easy to service. Goulds has two primary sump pump series, the LSP03 and LSP07 series. For an example of how versatile and dependable these Goulds series are, let's look at the Goulds LSP0311A model. This pump is capable of 36 gallons per minute, 20' of maximum head, and a motor that is capable of 1/3 HP. Some other features & benefits of this model include: Corrosion-resistant construction Stainless Steel motor casing and fastener Glass-filled thermoplastic impeller and casing Upper and lower heavy duty ball bearing construction Motor is permanently lubricated for extended service life and is powered for continuous operation This is only the tip of the iceberg though. You can't get a better bang for your buck than Goulds when it comes to sump pumps. The best feature or benefit that Goulds offers is peace of mind. We should be able to install and forget. We can go out and live our lives knowing full well we have no reason to be nervous when bad weather starts to rear its ugly face. • Zoeller Sump Pumps: Reliability & Performance

    March 4, 2020

Picking the right sump pump for your home or business can be no easy task. We all look for some common denominators, such as performance and dependability. However when it comes to knowing which pump perfectly suits your needs, there are other factors to consider. For instance, the required TDH and GPM of your application. Much like how Harry Potter’s wand picked the wizard, sometimes the pumps pick us. OK maybe not the best metaphor but these Zoeller pumps are definitely suited for a plethora of applications. Every Zoeller pump comes trusted, tested, and tough straight out of the factory. This means if you see the Zoeller name on the side of a pump, consider it dependable. This week we're putting the spotlight on the Zoeller Model M98 and Zoeller Model M53 sump pumps. Let’s dive into why these models stand out over the competition. Sump pumps are integral for any home or business. The idea behind how they work and their purpose is pretty simple. The humble sump pump's task is to prevent basement flooding because water damage is no joke. Sump pumps work by kicking on when excess water is present, whether that’s groundwater or runoff from a heavy storm. Typically, a sump pump has an open basin under your basement floor, a drainage system, and the pump itself. When enough excess water rises in the basin, a switch kicks the pump on and begins the process of water drainage. The Zoeller M98 Sump Pump also known as the “Flow-Mate” is designed for use in residential or light commercial dewatering applications and can be used to transfer groundwater or effluent. This durable cast iron pump includes a powder coated tough epoxy finish to prevent corrosion and is designed to provide great heat dissipation from the motor.  Zoeller has included tons of features to ensure a long service life and keep your pump running trouble-free. As with every Zoeller pump, the Zoeller M98 Sump Pump is 100% pressure-tested, submerged, and run to ensure quality and reliability for years of trouble-free performance. This attention to detail is an inherent feature of every pump, making it one of the most reliable in the industry. This model also features carbon and ceramic shaft seals and no screens to clog. The maximum working temperature is 130° F Features & Benefits ½ HP 115 Volts 1 Phase 9.4 Amps 72 GPM Max 23 ft Max Head The Zoeller Sump Pump Model M53 is also one of our more popular models. This model features many of the same features as the M98, albeit with different specifications. Known as the “Mighty Mate”, this pump is also designed for use in residential or light commercial dewatering applications and can be used to transfer groundwater or effluent. The M53 is hermetically sealed to be watertight, dust-tight, and completely submersible. The motor is 60 Hz, 1550 RPM, oil filled, hermetically sealed, and is automatic reset thermal overload protected. This model features a non-clogging vortex impeller, a watertight neoprene ring between the motor and pump housing, and no sheet metal parts to rust or corrode. Features & Benefits 0.3 HP 115 Volts 1 Phase 9.7 Amps 43 GPM Max 19.25 ft Max Head When you’re looking for a new Zoeller Sump Pump, Zoeller Parts, or Zoeller Accessories to help prevent water damage, look no further than PumpProducts.com. • 3 Ways a Sump Pump Benefits Your Home

    March 2, 2020

You probably rarely think about your home’s sump pump (or lack thereof), but it’s so important to proactively protect one of the largest investments you’ll ever make—your home. A sump pump is one easy way to do this. You certainly don’t want to wait to think about a pump when you’re dealing with major water damage! This article is to help you understand why you might want a sump pump and to do the shopping for one easy. First, we’ll take a quick look at the basics of sump pumps and how they work, and then we’ll dive into three benefits of having a quality sump pump, like a Zoeller sump pump, in your home. Finally, we’ll quickly look at one of the most popular models of industry-leading Zoeller pumps. The Basics: Why Does My Home Need a Sump Pump Sump pumps generally protect your home in three important ways. But before we dive into those, we will take a quick look at the basic functioning of a sump pump. How Do Sump Pumps Work Sump pumps work by kicking on when excess water is present, whether that’s groundwater or runoff from a heavy storm. Typically, a sump pump has an open basin under your basement floor, a drainage system, and the pump itself. When enough excess water rises in the basin, a switch kicks the pump on automatically to get rid of it. Three Ways a Sump Pump Protects Your Home Sump pumps (like the Zoeller Sump Pump M98 model that we’ll talk more about in a bit), are small but mighty machines. Three benefits of sump pumps are that they protect your home from: 1.      Flooding and Water Damage Sump pumps are engineered mainly to keep water out of your basement, which could ruin everything you have stored there. By removing excess water as it fills the pump basin, your home is safe from flooding and the major water damage that could result. 2.      Electrical Fires You might not think of flooding having anything to do with fires…it’s kind of counter-intuitive. But flooding is one of the primary causes of electrical fires in homes! Wires short out when they come into contact with water, sending dangerous sparks flying. A good sump pump will protect your home from electrical fires by removing the concern of flooding. 3.      Moisture, Mold, and Mildew Excess moisture causes mold and mildew. If your home’s basement is finished, it’s even more important to protect it from moisture. You probably have nice furnishings, insulation, and drywall to keep safe. But even if it’s not a finished basement, you don’t want your belongings or home exposed to damaging mold and mildew—these things can cause major damage to your things and even illness in your family! To save your home from these three issues, you’ll want to have a high-quality sump pump installed like a Zoeller pump. Zoeller Pumps and the Zoeller M98 Zoeller pumps (including Zoeller sump pumps like the Zoeller sump pump M98) are known as some of the best in the water transfer industry. Zoeller: Known for Quality Founded in 1939, Zoeller is still run as a family-owned business. Over the last several decades in business, Zoeller has established itself as a reliable and consistent leader in the water transfer industry. The company continues to excel by providing durable, top-quality pumping solutions for all your needs. The Zoeller Sump Pump M98 The Zoeller M98 is one of the top selling sump pumps on the market. With its tough, corrosion-resistant coating and cast-iron construction, this little beast will keep your home protected from water for years to come. It comes complete with a float switch, and package systems are available.
